I started Anglia Sign Casting in 1998 with my wife, Caroline, following the sudden death of her mum, Barbara. Upon our subsequent visit to the crematorium to arrange the memorial, we discovered there would be a twelve-week wait for delivery.
Having completed my apprenticeship as a skilled Moulder/Coremaker in a much larger local foundry in the early 1980s (and subsequently worked in the industry all my working life), I decided to alleviate this long, distressing wait for people. Using my skills and knowledge, I opened the foundry. Intending to make top-quality cast bronze and aluminium memorial plaques.
Most importantly, I wanted to proof, make and deliver the plaques within 15 working days, and I’m proud to say in nearly 20 years of being in business, we have never failed to do so.
Our foundry is in a small Norfolk Village just outside of Norwich. We have a small team of hard-working, dedicated men and women, including our son James, who works in the office alongside me, controlling the day-to-day running of the business.
Because we are a small family-run business, we offer a personal touch and use our experience to help and advise. We also supply Councils, Charities and other Organisations with Dedication Plaques, Commemoration Plaques, War Memorials, Heritage Trail Plaques, Public Information Signs, etc.
As a lasting tribute to a loved one, we craft our memorial plaques with great care and high-level attention to detail. Hand-finished by experienced craftsmen and cherished by our customers.
